Overview of the 5-day programme
The first LTTA was held for 5 days and 5 teams of students and teachers arrived in Poland plus the local team. The methodology used involved the following:
Before the meeting, all students in each country were engaged in project groups to find the bios of women and to prepare necessary presentations on the choses outstanding figures in fine arts. The presentations were devoted to women famous for their achievements in fine art, painting, fashion design, music and literature.
The meeting was divided into 5 days:
D1.Opening Ceremony and pp or Padlet presentations of each school, region and country; ice breaking activities and creative drama lesson, visiting school and the local area. Teachers did a briefing on e-Twinning in the project.
D2 5 presentations of “Music and Art – Famous Women” Kahoot Tests, Art Class in international teams – portraits painting, Cultural visit in Ojców National Park
D3 5 presentations on “Women in Literature”. Reading Comprehension Tests and Kahoot Tests, Art Class in international teams – portraits painting, visit in Cracow’s Art Museum for art class “Women in Polish Painting”. Teachers will do a briefing on project web. Teachers will have a workshop on CLIL method – how to use the project material in class.
D4 5 presentations about “Grand Prix Lady” a free-choice female character connected with Music, Art, Ballet, and Dance. Reading Comprehension Tests and Kahoot. Cultural visit – Salt Mine in Wieliczka Evening meeting with “Our Everyday Heroine” Polish teacher, mum and library worker but also a poet and a songwriter for a pop band.
D5 Farewell Ceremony – Voting the most inspiring lady of the meeting, Certification Ceremony, Summing up procedures: conducting evaluation surveys at the end of the exchange and keeping minutes of the meeting to be placed in our Google Drive. Teachers collaborated to deal with issues about the project, preparing the next meeting, sharing information, resources and ideas.
The most important result is that the kids after the long period of pandemic closedown could meet and to get to know their peers from other countries in the course of join activities, which let them build a strong team in the course of 5-day activities and time spent together. In addition, they learnt about women who were important in human history of art, music and literature and how to reason and draw conclusion, how to read and understand the content. They could see the area of Proszowice and Cracow and see Polish lifestyle. Teachers were able to exchange good practices and experiences. All involved people used English, which helps them develop the level of advancement. The event was incorporated into school week as all students were invited to assembly hall to meet the foreign guests and listen to presentations about regions and countries and to see the results of contests and challenges. Also, the foreign students were a part of the local school society for a week, using the premises, using the school canteen and sports hall. Some of the students stayed in Polish families and in this way they saw Polish style of life, met Polish families and students could communicate.
